Today Aaron and Eric embarked on their first official fundraising campaign ... It went something like this
The boys knock.... Not just a polite knock an almost continuous knock until neighbor answers, then:
Hi, we're selling tickets
oh, what are the tickets for?
For a lawn mower to like mow a tball or baseball field
how much are the tickets?
well you can buy this whole pack of 6 for 5$, or you can just buy one
well, what do i will if my ticket is drawn
what?
well, what do i will if my ticket is drawn
what?... a look back at me...(mom gives them help)
fiiiiiirst prize is great wolf lodge
second is wings and waves
third, star theater (im sure the boys have no idea what any of this means)
******
repeat with a little less awkwardness each time
now to the funny business!
During this time we were rounding the neighbor hood, eric asked me to bend down so he could tell me something in my ear. he then asks "when do we get to go to grateful lodge mama?" and i said back "honey we live in grateful lodge, we get to go there everyday!"
by world standards we do live in a lodge, and there are a whole lotta grateful hearts that sleep here ;)
This mornning!
we went to second service, which allows extra time to get ready errrrrr, to cause trouble if you are below 4 feet tall! i am doing dishes at the sink and Eric comes up to me and says
"mama, don't put hot sauce in my mouth (i know if it starts off like this, there is going to be some sort of potty talk) buuuuuuuttt, do i have a bone in my penis?"
"no eric, you don't" (trying to not crack a smile)
"uh well, do i have balls in my penis?"
'i think you are going to have to ask your dad." (doing my best not to bust out laughing)
shortly there after i headed upstairs to change shoes, from my red-non-matching-my-dress-but-have-my-orthodics-in-them, to my black flats....they were not where i left them :| i asked teh boys "do either of you know where my black shoes are?" ( i swear sometimes i feel like they are playing defense in teh game of punctuality!) aaron hollors upstairs "why can't you just wear the red ones?!" (this in an effort to not come upstairs and help)
so simple to a 6 year old! NO, i dont want to wear the red shoes, i already feel like i look a Christmas ornament with the green, black and white dress...red shoes only add to the im-trying-to-look-like-an-ornament-fashion-statement i dont want to make...besides, they are my shoes! WHere are they!!!
Eric comes upstairs after a bit of a battle of him telling me that he can't climb the stairs because he has a hurt thumb (side note, aaron slammed erics thumb in the window about 10 minutes before this shoe debacle). Finally after he reluctantly came up to help find my rogue shoes he calmly walked into his bedroom, to his closet and pulled them out from under his sleeping bag! Oh, why oh why had i not think to look there? "Eric, what are they doing in your closet." and cool as a cucumber he responds "because i was wearing them."
Im sure if you have gotten to this spot you have seen all sorts of grammatical errors....this is what you get when there isnt time to document, but make time to share laughs!
