Learning to roll with the punches

I am terrible at keeping up with this blog, i am hoping after the baby comes i can do a better job...So there may be many random facts i put in posts just to log them, not because they all fit together perfectly in a 'post'
Erics favorite sayings" Sweep Sweeper= street sweeper- pack pack = back pack He hurt is chin the other day trying to put on his helmet he pinched his lip hard enough for it to bleed, to which he yelled and tried to convince us 'he was going to go to heaven soon" ( from the injury im guessing)
The last month has been very difficult for several reasons/ Bills injury to his arm put him on lights duty. On his first day of reporting for light duty another event (back spasm) took place, debilitating him. After an ER visit and 2 weeks light duty her reported back to shift work. He worked 1 24 hour shift this last tuesday. He reported to his shift on friday, around 10 am started having abdominal paid that worsened as the day went on, he came home sick at 4, by 6 we realized it was not going to get better, so we headed to silverton ER. Unfortunately they did not ultrasound bill's belly...we were sent home with a diagnosis of gastritis...that night neither of us got sleep, trying to manage his pain and nausea with our home pharmaceuticals. In the morning i called first thing to get an follow up with our primary. Bills sever pain on the way to the office subsided by the time we saw the doctor. The doctor decided to have an ultra sound done anyway. This showed there was an issue with his appendix. Long story short, bill had emergent surgery at 5 that night to remove his appendix that had perforated (we are guessing this perforation happened upon our arrival to dr. office...accounting for the pain relief). We are home now, after three nights at salem hospital we are blancing 2 antibiotics and bills pain. We are very thankful for where we are, his prognosis could have been MUCH worse because of the perforation to the appendix. So begins a schedule that includes me doing many closing shifts at Costco. Bills mom LInda is our angel, providing childcare essentially when we need it and she is not working, just another thing to be thankful for! AND bill and i had hoped to have 2 nights away together before this baby was born....God delivers in unconventional ways at times, our two night getaway was complete with two hospital beds and a view of a cement building, we had room service, and a selection of videos any child would dream of, as our stay was in the pediatric unit. We have to find ways to laugh in the midst of teh storm dont we?
