double boogie man!

Bill and i prepared a candle light dinner for Aaron and Eric tonight. They were surprised and Eric called us the 'best valentines mommy and daddy EVER' ...at dinner Eric informed us that double boogie men have double guns, and that double guns have 'ninety six-seventy-ninety six-sixteen-twenty-fourty-ninety-six bullets in them"  everyday humor!

Sick and Sick

This is a quick update just to "document" the sickness the Anderson Family has endured this last week! Two saturdays ago i took all 3 kiddos in to doctor...mostly because i was feeling terrible, so they must be too right?
Well both Eric and Cameron had double ear infections :| off to Costco for antibiotics! two days later, i went back to the doctor for myself...antibiotics for a sinus infection! 1 week later Eric was throwing up with the flu.....an ER visit with him (won over the nurses with his charm)...every hour on the hour for several hours (we thought he was having an appendicitis...turns out no, but where one has the flu, others will follow! Mom next, then Aaron, and this time, bill and Cameron escaped! we are all on the mend, and staying close to home!

Today we had the pleasure of the trip to the dentist! I had the privilege of getting my teeth cleaned, while aaron and eric had theirs done at the same time....i sat quietly and listed to eric, who always provides some comic relief. today he asked the hygienist if she was looking for ear wax when she was trying (unsuccessful) to get films. Later on in the cleaning he mentions to her that 'he thinks he forgot to put underwear on today' my hygienist and i were laughing out loud...i saw eric get dressed this morning in the clothes AND underwear...i think it was so early he just didnt remember! Earlier this week we took them to MAPS to open up bank accounts....eric patiently waited in the chair for 15 minutes, which in his mind was probably an hour. The he asks me (this is spelled to you can hear exactly how he pronounced the words) "mama, when are we going to be done getting our bonk a-coin-ts"  i just chuckled to myself, he is such a funny kid!

popsicle sticks

Bill, Aaron and Cam stayed home from church this morning, because aaron is sick :( when eric and i got home we were discussing what the day held for plans...Eric wants to watch 'panaykyo' (Pinocchio) to get a lesson in telling the truth :D mom wants to give everyone haircuts before we go to see dad and sandy for late lunch....some how the subject of the temperature in the house came up. Bill said i can't turn off the heat anymore that in his words 'he could see his own breath' to which i replied bologna! aaron took sides with bill saying "yeah mama, its like a hundred Popsicle keeping it cold in there! Guess i might have to re-evaluate ;\...all in the name of saving a dollar!

These next photos are a start of a new tradition! I am going to try to include pictures of mom in each of my posts. Every day I think of her. Thank God for the mother she was to me, and hope she is smiling down (or pointing at me with that shirley finger...j and t you know what i mean) from heaven. There were many things we missed about her while we were celebrating this Christmas!

Christmas Fun

This year was the first time bill and i both had Christmas Eve off of work in the 10 years we have been together! We found ourselves discussing what traditions we want to start new and what to carry on from our own childhood onto our family. This proved to be interesting! We were able to go to church, which had a wonderful service. The boys were thrilled with thier gifts from santa!  Aaron got moon dough...did you know that it never drys out!!!:/:/:/:/ so it never goes away...what was santa thinking! Eric got the remote control car he wanted....he was wondering why it was red and not orange, i guess santa ran out of orange paint ;/ it was a modest Christmas, and that is one tradition we want to keep. I found myself, this year more than any before, very frustrated with the commercialism. I want my kids to remember the celebration of Christ coming to this earth and a few gifts along the way.
We enjoyed the visit from the Inverso family over New Years. Its fun (loud) to have the kids play together. The boys got a rocket from their cousins and love it!
We are making plans to go to texas this spring, before the Gaines family transfer to a different base.
i hope to upload photos soon and there are so many funny stories i need to tell  get on this blog, i just forget them by the time i can get an apportunity to post them!

The Boogie Man

So today i sent the boys into McDonalds to get 3 chocolate chip cookies (i guess some good stories have to start with confessions ;)). Right after they went in a man and woman entered the 'restaurant'. The man had a large knife (in its case) strapped to his belt. Because this knife was approx 12-16 inches length including handle it was hard not to notice it...i guess he thinks that having a hunting knife readily available ...just in case he has to kill and gut his dinner on his way home.....is a great warning to others to not mess with him. my mama sense said 'go in, just in case i have to show this man who's boss'...NO INCIDENT OCCURRED! now we get to the funny part
On the way home the boys and i were discussing why i came in the restaurant. Aaron said he saw him and he knew he was a boogie man, and that he was afraid the man would " Chop off his leg" then "I dont want to talk about this mama, it makes me get stars in my blood" Eric then chimes in " Yeah, he might chomp off my head" Aaron " i just dont even want to think about it" Eric" well if he did that i would put him in the recycle can!" Aaron, no the Glass container, you know teh one that they burn up, yeah we'll set him on fire!" They both continue this dialogue until the mama who was ready to throw down this boogie man if necessary brings the conversation to an end. We went to teh park so they could play a little, at the nearby fire station they are having a training involving laying 2 1/2 inch lines and spraying them....the new recruit lost a little control of the line, knocking the large recycle containers standing between the boys and the action over...they both came sprinting over to the truck "DID YOU SEE THAT MAMA?!?!?" oh what they get into in less than an hour...more stories to come, Eric pooping in the neighbors yard and their trip to the dump!
